Serensoft Developing EPortfolios for NYU School of Medicine

Portsmouth, NH – May 6, 2008 - Serensoft announced today that it has signed New York University School of Medicine in mid-town Manhattan as a new client. NYU School of Medicine will be working with Serensoft to help them roll out e-portfolios institution-wide.

NYU School of Medicine, already using the Sakai Learning Management platform in production, realized the importance of e-portfolios in the education of physicians some time ago. It was a logical step to tap the robust e-portfolio tools they already had at their disposal, built in to Sakai – OSPortfolio. By turning to Serensoft, NYU School of Medicine is taking advantage of one of the most experienced and flexible e-portfolio/OSP consultants in the industry to help them translate their portfolio vision into action.

"Serensoft has allowed us to implement an ePortfolio strategy across our Medical School and Residency Training programs," said Marc M. Triola, M.D., who is both Assistant Professor of Medicine and Director, Division of Educational Informatics. "Their guidance and expertise has been critical, without it we would not be able to deliver the cutting-edge educational technology that we are using today."

NYU School of Medicine, an administrative unit of New York University (www.med.nyu.edu) has a proud history that goes back to 1837 and includes initiation of and participation in many of the major events in American medicine through two centuries. Today the Medical School boasts 1,360 Full-Time faculty and 2,175 Part-Time faculty. There are 26 Endowed Professorships, 975 Residents/Fellows, 68 M.D./Ph.D. Candidates and 4,788 Post-Graduate Registrants.
